     I just heard about another girl that I know from the streets here in Salt Lake City who just froze to death on the street a few weeks ago.  That is one more name on a list that is too long for me to even quantify at this point.  It is insane to think about how many people I have known in this town to die that way while our local leaders pat themselves on the back and praise themselves for a job well done at “solving the homeless problem” when all they really do is discriminate and target the homeless while criminalizing them just for existing and making it almost impossible for them to even survive. 

     We need to start holding our local leaders accountable for their failure to find equitable solutions the problems that we as a community face when it comes to the high mortality rate among our most vulnerable citizens.

I am really tired of people I know dying this way in a state with an economy like we have in Utah. It should not be happening!
