Statement of Faith
` mango
The reason some of us become pastors is not to be placed above those that we minister to in any way or to prove how much more we know about God or His word, if anything to be a minister is a lowering of our station to that of a servant. Much as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, it is our responsibility to help those who seek our help to be a witness for their forgiveness, or to be an advocate for their good.
God does not make mistakes, and He did not create us to condemn us for being the way he made us. We are who we are, and we are as God made us to be. That is something that cannot and should not be changed just to fit simple-minded narratives of how the world should be. We are all equal in God’s eyes according to the scripture. Also, according to the scripture, God made us to love and be loved and not to be a judge of who deserves love and who doesn’t. He has created us for fellowship; fellowship with each other and fellowship with Him.
This is a space for love, inclusion and the peace that it brings. Jesus says that to truly love Him you must also love the least of these (Matthew 25-40 NKJV), and love and inclusion like that are truly fringe ideas these days. It is truly sad when there are so many “faith” leaders these days that are saying that if you truly want to serve Jesus then you must hate as He hated. There is an outbreak of blasphemous rhetoric like that, and it is driving more and more people away form God. Whether by leading them down dangerous roads paved with hate and division or just turning them off to God altogether.
So, let’s get to work because we are truly in the minority and the fight against hate is a very hard fight, but as David proved when he defeated Goliath, it is a war that is always winnable when we stand up together in the name of God against hate. It is our job to prove that God is love no matter what these hateful people are saying. It is not okay to hate people just because they are different. If anything, it is a sign of insecurity and ignorance for anyone who speaks this way.
Here we absolutely reject hateful ideologies, and everyone is welcome here. But you are not welcome to spread hate here.
Welcome to the fringe!
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love you neighbor as yourself.”
15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! -Galatians 5:14-15 NKJV
